Fruity Tootie
'Fruity' is a nice calendar that you or anyone else can put on their website to keep track of events.
'Fruity' is designed from the ground up with the aim of making all the elements completely
separate and easy to change. Now I know that every man and his dog label their free software to be
"completely customisable", but this one is. The reason 'Fruity' is so easy to use is because every part of
it is written in the simplest way possible and each of these parts are thoroughly documented and available for yours and everyone else's critique.
I hope that with a little help from everyone we can make two versions of fruity: "Enough" and "Extra".
The 'Enough' version will always be the simplest most effective way to have a calendar that shows and event and nothing else.
The 'Extra' version will add some little features that may be needed by other who have more elaborate events and may be used
more intensely than the easy version.
Different sorts
Because fruity has well defined separate parts it makes it really easy to change how it looks while still keeping the
functionality of the default calendar. Instead of displaying a calendar maybe you want a list. Instead of displaying
a whole month of events maybe you only want one. If all you'd like to do is change how the calendar is displayed and
not actually fiddle with how it works then all you need to do is amend one file that contains all of the methods that
can display your events.
Here's one I made earlier:
When can we all get fruity?
At the moment I'm testing with just few close fruity friends. When I have ironed out the silly bugs and have brought
all of the documentation up to date I'll let everyone else play with it. Until then hold tight or sign up to the
mailing list and I'll tell you when I am done.
I won't spam.
Speak to you soon. Kevin. x
